Les Buckman


Les has over 25 years’ experience in transit project development, demand forecasting and business case evaluation across rail, light rail transit and bus based systems.

He has worked at Steer for over 15 years, having worked at two other consultancies prior to that. His recent work includes leading the development of a preliminary business case for the Toronto-Windsor high-speed rail line, an update to Metrolinx’s business case guidance and the demand forecasting and evaluation of the Hurontario LRT project.

At Steer, Les directs local projects in rail and urban transit, and broader policy areas, notably in the realm of business case policy and guidance.
