Profile
Emma started her career on the Civil Service Fast Stream programme for graduate economists and spent eight years as a government economist, working in the Home Office and later the Department for Transport.
During her time in government, she worked on areas such as security policy, transport strategy, roads investment and Heathrow expansion. In 2016 she left the Civil Service to join a multinational mining company in their Singapore-based shipping HQ. She took a number of different roles in the company, working on freight optimisation, analytics, programme evaluation and commercial finance. Emma’s roles in Singapore gave her a broad range of commercial experience and insight into the functioning of a successful global company.
Emma’s work at Steer Economic Development draws from her experience in both the private and public sector – including business case development, research, evaluation, strategy and appraisal.
