Steer is pleased to re-welcome Carmen Correa Lafuente, Associate, to our North American team. She joins the California High Speed Rail (HSR) project team in Sacramento, utilizing her project management skills and financial experience to help support the advancement of the program. Carmen joins Elisa Tejedor, Associate Director, and Alasdair Dawson, Associate, and other Steer team members to help advance the HSR program.
Carmen originally joined Steer’s Puerto Rico office in 1998, as the first local hire. At that time, she was the Puerto Rico Office Leader, managing a varied portfolio of transportation-related projects, including advisory to P3 consortiums, toll road traffic and revenue studies, transit feasibility studies and many others.
Since moving to Sacramento in 2011, Carmen worked with Siemens as commercial project manager in the manufacturing of light rail and locomotive vehicles. Carmen is also active in the advocate community throughout the Sacramento area, volunteering with pedestrian and cyclist advocate organizations and transportation-related non-profit organizations that promote safe and walkable communities.
“We are ecstatic to have Carmen re-join the Steer team,” said colleague Alasdair Dawson. “She brings both international knowledge and experience across a variety of transportation platform and applications, which will tremendously help support the advancement of the California High-Speed Rail project.”
