We are pleased to have been awarded the contract to manage the FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) standard. For the next five years, we will be working with Transport for London (TfL) and FORS stakeholders to maintain and evolve the FORS standard and to manage the advisory and working groups that help set the direction for FORS.
FORS is an accreditation scheme for freight and fleet operators which aims to raise safety and environmental standards on the road by recognising operators in the construction, waste, coach and logistics industries who go beyond the legal minimum. FORS allows operators to compete on quality in addition to cost and encourages progressive operational, management, driver and vehicle improvements. The scheme awards Bronze, Silver and Gold accreditation to road fleet operators that provide evidence of safety and environmental performance.
Our team will work with the FORS Governance & Standards Advisory Group (GSAG), the Executive Group and the existing working groups to maintain and advance the FORS standard. From early 2021 we will have responsibility for the management of the licensing of all FORS training providers. We will also work with TfL and the wider freight and fleet industry to identify the need for and introduce new working groups during our tenure.
