A group of 25 delegates from transport departments and district bureaus in Chongqing, China recently visited Steer Davies Gleave to learn about public transport in the UK.
Chongqing is a major city in central-western China and home to 5 million people. Due to high growth, Chongqing’s transport authority wanted to review how they manage public transport in their growing city. The purpose of the delegate’s visit was to find out more about how public transport is organised and managed in the UK.
Steer Davies Gleave gave a presentation covering issues to do with the planning, operation and management of UK urban transport, including developing strategies and policies, traffic control systems and operational management.
The delegates from China also visited local planning departments in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
