Today Connect Tees Valley has unveiled its brand new web portal for local travel information, www.connectteesvalley.com. The web portal was developed by transport consultancy Steer Davies Gleave’s award-winning Design & Communications Team.
The one-stop-shop travel information service will provide live information on bus, rail; car transport and also provide information on cycling and walking routes, taxi; community transport services. Other useful features include a journey planner and live traffic updates.
Chair of Transport for Tees Valley and Cabinet Member of Transport with Darlington Borough Council, Councillor David Lyonette said, “This initiative demonstrates what can be achieved with all organizations involved in transport provision working together”.
Project manager Craig Nelson from Steer Davies Gleave said “the website is a fantastic example of how integrated web technologies can offer the traveling public a one-stop shop for multimodal travel planning. We have worked closely with the Connect Tees Valley team to ensure that the right information is available in a useable fashion”.
Steer Davies Gleave will continue to develop the website, including versions for hospitals, colleges and doctor’s surgeries. There are also plans to provide cycling and walking journey planning and a mobile version of the site.
