Ricardo Montecino returns to Steer Davies Gleave as an Associate Director

Ricardo Montecino rejoins Steer Davies Gleave after almost five years working in the public sector, at the Executive Authority for the Metropolitan Public Transport (DTPM) in Santiago, Chile. He joins Steer Davies Gleave’s Latin American team as an Associate Director and will be based in their Santiago de Chile office.

With over 15 years' experience in transport and consulting, both at a local and at an international level, Ricardo has vast experience in transport transactions and urban transit planning. He is a Civil Engineer with an MSc in Transport Planning from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.

Leaving Steer Davies Gleave in 2012, to take up the role of institutional development manager at DTPM, Ricardo has been working in managerial roles in the areas of bus service design and improvement, operations control, modal integration, transport institutional coordination and overall public transport system development.

Previously, during his time at Steer Davies Gleave, Ricardo worked in several key studies for the country, such as the Congestion Tariff Study for Santiago. He also undertook studies for demand, revenue and risk analysis of various urban and interurban concessions and public transport systems at a regional level.

One of Ricardo’s key strengths, aside from his extensive technical background in transportation, is his ability to contribute to teams and generate confidence, facilitating project delivery and working relationships with clients, counterparts and the teams in which he works.

In this new role with Steer Davies Gleave, Ricardo will lead the firm’s public transport offer in the Latin American region, seeking to grow SDG’s contribution in this field while ensuring that all clients benefit from the company’s capacities and knowledge.

German Lleras, Steer Davies Gleave’s Latin America Regional Director, said: “We are very happy to have Ricardo back in the company, his experience and ability to lead teams will help us in our effort to grow and provide high-quality consulting services. His recent participation in the management of the public transport system in Santiago brings updated knowledge and new opportunities to reinforce our offer in this market”.
