Steer Davies Gleave, leading international transport consultancy, is delighted to announce the appointment of joint CEOs, Steve Hewitt and Hugh Jones, who will form a new chief executive team to support the continued growth of SDG in its UK and global markets.
"Today's announcement is a strong endorsement of SDG’s business and its future vision," said company Chairman, Colin Rowland. "SDG will greatly benefit from Steve and Hugh’s experience in focusing the business to deliver strategic advice underpinned by technical excellence and expert opinion. They will form a fantastic team to execute SDG’s vision."
Steve Hewitt has been with the firm since 2001. His career in transport consultancy spans 30 years, including high-level roles at Eurostar and Railtrack. His extensive technical expertise and broader management skills, particularly in sponsorship of major transport projects, bring valuable insight into the company’s continued development.
Hugh Jones joined the firm from London Underground in 1999. He has successfully led the company's transactions and strategy division, leading it to be the most profitable part of the business. As a consultant, Hugh has directed a range of high-profile, commercially-oriented commissions involving heavy rail franchise, rolling stock supply and metro operator competitions.
Former CEO, Stephen Crouch left the firm in July to pursue a career in the not-for-profit sector. Under Stephen’s five-year tenure, the firm has achieved substantial growth of its international business. SDG wishes him the very best in his new career.
