Steer is delighted to announce the appointment of Alex Georgianna as Associate Director within the New Mobility team in our London office.
Alex brings a diverse background in financial markets, corporate management, the daily car rental and leasing sectors as well as economic development and fleet electrification throughout North America, Europe and Africa.
Earlier in his career, Alex played a leading role in multi-billion-pound acquisitions, integrations and corporate restructurings. Having facilitated Avis Rent-a-car’s acquisition of PHH Leasing, he subsequently divested European operations to BNP Paribas to form Swindon-based Arval. Upon returning to the US, he helped lead the consolidation and integration of Avis and Budget Rent-a-Car to form the successor company, Avis Budget Group. Alex then moved to Colorado to lead the turnaround of struggling Budget subsidiary Ryder Truck Rental.
During a sabbatical, Alex worked in East Africa, leading Lord Sainsbury’s Tanzania Cotton Development Program, where his intervention among government authorities and international cotton buyers secured input finance for nearly ½ million smallholder farmers contributing to a doubling of national cotton production and foreign exchange earnings within just a few short seasons.
More recently, Alex developed a stand-alone consultancy focused on the electrification of commercial fleets throughout the UK and Europe. Here at Steer, he will drive our offer in the development and finance of what will become one of the world’s largest infrastructure transitions, the electrification of road transportation.
